Welcome to American Heritage Mu Alpha Theta's website.

Mu Alpha Theta (MAT) is the national high school and junor college mathematics club for honors students. The club is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the Mathematics Association of America (MAA). The club was founded by Richard and Josephine Andree at the University of Oklahoma in 1957. According to the national charter, the mission of Mu Alpha Theta is "...dedicated to engendering keener interest in mathematics, the development of strong scholarship in the subject and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics among high school and junior and community college students."

Members of our club have obtained and maintained a 3.5 unweighted grade point average in college preparitory mathematics and a 3.25 unweighted overall grade point average. Our members compete in regional and state mathematics competitions. They also run a successful peer help program for students in need of assistance in their math class as well as sponsor our school's Toys for Tots program during the holiday season.
